MDR C-Rig

Description

The MDR C-Rig is a trimmed-down three-arm micro A-rig — and honestly it’s been more versatile for SoCal inshore harbor fishing than running a full five-arm umbrella rig.

Three arms means a tighter baitfish cluster, a cleaner sink, and a lot less bulk. I run mine with 3.5″ RX Slugs or 4″ RX Paddle Tails at Marina del Rey when spotted bay bass and sand bass are keyed into smaller forage. It drops cleaner through the water column than a full umbrella rig, and when you get bit on it… you feel it.

Lighter, easier to fish, and effective when fish have seen the bigger multi-bait presentations. Works great in both freshwater and SoCal inshore salt.

How to rig it: Thread your soft plastics onto the wire arms and attach your preferred head to the front. Start with matching sizes across all three arms for a tight, uniform baitfish school look. Adjust weight based on depth — the cleaner sink is one of the main advantages of going three arms over five.
