RX Belly Weight

Description

RX Belly Weights are how I get a weedless soft plastic swimbait presentation to track right without killing the action.

When I want depth control without switching to a jig head, this is what I use.

What It’s Built For

Weedless soft plastics can spin out or lose balance depending on how they’re rigged.

The belly weight fixes that.

• Adds balance to the bait
• Keeps it tracking straight
• Creates a natural side-to-side wobble

Instead of tumbling through the water column, the bait swims the way it should.

Why It Produces

You peel back the plastic, press the weight into the belly, and the bait comes alive.

That controlled wobble gives fish something to track without overpowering the presentation.

It’s especially effective when:

• Fish aren’t chasing
• You need a slower presentation
• You still want subtle movement

Small adjustment, big difference.

How I Fish It

I use these mostly on the RX Slug and other soft plastics around pylons and dock structure.

• Slow-roll it along the wall
• Keep it just above the rocks
• Let the bait stay in the strike zone longer

One setup worth trying:

Belly weight on the Slug, small Colorado blade clipped off the back, slow-rolled just above the rocks.

Sun is high, fish aren’t chasing — that presentation still gets bit.

When to Use It

• When your bait is spinning or rolling out
• When you want depth control without a jig head
• When fishing weedless around structure
• When fish need a slower, more controlled presentation

How to Rig It

• Peel back the plastic on your swimbait
• Press the belly weight firmly into the underside
• Close the plastic back over it

Optional:

• Clip a small Colorado blade to the back hook for extra flash and vibration
