RX Belly Weight

RX Belly Weights are how I get a weedless soft plastic swimbait presentation to track right without killing the action.

You peel back the plastic, press the weight into the belly of the bait, and now it swims with a side-to-side wobble instead of spinning out or barrel rolling on you. That’s the action you want — not a bait that’s just tumbling through the water column.

I use these for bass fishing — mostly on the RX Slug and swimbaits around pylons and dock structure when I want depth control without adding a jig head. The drop shot guide covers how to match weight to current conditions. One setup worth trying: belly weight on the Slug, small Colorado blade clipped off the back, slow-rolled just above the rocks. Sun is high, fish aren’t chasing… that presentation still gets bit.

How to rig it: Peel back the plastic on your swimbait, press the belly weight firmly into the underside, and close the plastic back over it. Clip a small Colorado blade to the back hook if you want extra flash and vibration on the slow roll. Works on the RX Paddle Tail the same way. Small detail, big difference in how the bait behaves.
